Here’s the prayer that Pastor Eric mentioned in his sermon, from ‘Meditations of the Heart’ by Howard Thurman – the prayer was shared with him by a student:

“Our Father, You know our nature and read our innermost thoughts, and nothing can be hidden from You; help us, then, to unburden ourselves of every disguise we wear before the world, and find strength in being what we are, You humble and grateful children. Enable us to put off shame and pretence. Be patient with any of us who still prefer vain shows and empty pride to the freedom and security of Your Truth.

“Enable us to carry out from this place peace and strength that here we gain. Because we have talked with You here, may we be able to work more patiently for Your kingdom, bringing light upon the problems that perplex the world, dispelling the night of doubt and fear with Your sheltering love. Amen.”
